City Library of Přerov
Mrázek, Josef ; Uhlíř, Petr (referee) ; Ruller, Ivan (advisor)
The work is one of the possible sites of urban design library. This proposal includes a landscape design and construction. Solution design and construction are governed by the given program, plot size and the actual place in the urban environment in relation to its surroundings. The library is designed in the territory where the paved parking lot is now and archaeological discovery of the foundations of the chapel of the 16th century. The reasons for the location of the town library just in this area are: the requirement of the city, poor areas and fragmentation of existing buildings, libraries, poor state of the area and good location due to the city, lies near the historical center, in the resting zone and adjacent to the river and the green surroundings.
Spectral analyzing and characterization of magnetic atoms and investigating superconducting films in low temperature STM
Cahlík, Aleš ; Jelínek,, Pavel (referee) ; Šikola, Tomáš (advisor)
This work is divided in two thematic parts. The first part shows a refurbishment of a Omicron low temperature STM set-up and its utilization for preparation of superconducting-magnetic interfaces. First, a cleaning procedure of suitable metallic substrates, specifically W(110) and Ir(111), is shown. It is followed by results of iron monolayer deposition on Ir(111) (Fe-Ir(111) interface). The last section deals with study of vanadium growth on pure Ir(111) substrate as well as on mentioned Fe-Ir(111) interface. The second thematic part deals with magnetism of cobalt atoms on a monolayer metal dichalcogenide WS2. It focuses primarily on studying their magnetic moment and magnetic anisotropy using X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD).
English non-prepositional counterparts of Czech "v/ve" and "z/ze" prepositional phrases
Čuchalová, Marie ; Malá, Markéta (advisor) ; Klégr, Aleš (referee)
The present diploma thesis is concerned with English non-prepositional equivalents of the Czech v/ve and z/ze prepositional phrases. This type of equivalent is found in approximately 20% of cases (Klégr et al., 2011). The thesis shows that some of the divergent equivalents are conditioned lexically (different valency of the Czech and English verb), while others, being of systemic nature, are related to typological differences between Czech and English. Among the systemic counterparts are particularly English locative subjects in sentence-initial position correspoding to Czech adverbials, and English premodification by a noun translated into Czech as postmodification by a prepositional phrase. Material for the analytical part was extracted from the "Core" of the parallel corpus InterCorp, consisting of original Czech fiction texts and their English translations. A total of more than 200 divergent counterparts of both Czech prepositional phrases was collected.
Cloud-top morphology of convective storms as observed by meteorological satellites
Radová, Michaela
Title: Cloud-top morphology of convective storms as observed by meteorological satellites Author: Michaela Radová Department: Department of Atmospheric Physics Supervisor: RNDr. Martin Setvák, CSc., Czech Hydrometeorological Institute Abstract: This work focuses on study of features occurring at tops of convective storms, namely embedded warm areas, cold rings, cold-U/Vs and overshooting tops (OTs), mainly from the perspective of satellite observations. We have assembled a database of 104 subjectively detected cold rings and cold-U/Vs from the area of Europe. We discuss relationship between satellite- observed brightness temperature and cloud top height determined from radar measurements for storms with distinct cold-rings. Our results support the hypothesis that the warm area is a consequence of presence of central elevated dome reaching warmer lower stratosphere. Moreover, a storm with transformation of cold ring into cold-U is studied and an elevated plume above storm anvil in the warmer lower stratosphere is found to be a likely explanation of the warm area inside the cold-U. Both analyses confirm that thermal inversion above the tropopause is a necessary prerequisite for occurrence of cold rings and cold-U/Vs. We also propose a method for automated objective determination of spatial characteristics of...
